Daniel Craig is James Bond. In fact, Craig is the best Bond since Sean Connery and maybe the only Bond ever who could have pulled off the stunts in Casino Royale. Not only is Craig absolutely amazing, the film itself is one of the most enjoyable, heart-pounding, high octane action-adventure movies in years.

Paul Greengrass has crafted one of the most difficult films to sit through with his intense and unforgettable drama, United 93, a film which details the tragic events of September 11th, 2001. Using mostly unknown actors and without inserting a political agenda into the picture, Greengrass has managed to create a taut, extraordinarily haunting film that not only recreates but also honors the last hours in the lives of the passengers and crew aboard the doomed United Airlines Flight 93.

Next (2007)Sunday, August 26th, 2007 |

Nicolas Cage’s hair is the most memorable thing about Next, a sci-fi thriller directed with semi-verve by Lee Tamahori (Die Another Day, XXX: State of the Union). Tamahori knows action but that can’t save the irritatingly pointless Next from taking one disastrous misstep after another. Clever editing and an intriguing premise are wasted when on a film that’s loaded with plot holes and loopy logic, and filled with incredibly bad dialogue. |
