Let me admit right off the bat that the trailers for “Madagascar” did nothing for me. While “Shrek” and its sequel both had me at hello, “Madagascar” was a tough sell. Chris Rock has a decent voice for animated movies, but Ben Stiller, Jada Pinkett-Smith and David Schwimmer aren’t exactly known for their voice work, and the trailers and clips didn’t convince me they should look for more jobs in that particular field. Fortunately for moviegoers, the humor – in large part supplied by four wily, scene-stealing penguins - is strong enough to make up for the film’s lack of enchanting voices.

Kirby and his wife, Amanda want a plane to fly them over Isla Sorna, with Dr. Grant as their guide. But not everything Kirby says is true. This is the story of two brothers named Danny and Walter who barely get along even while driving their parents to distraction as their older sister tries to ignore them. While they played this old mechanical board game known as Zathura. However, after when the boys did their very first move, they find out that the game has flung them, not including their sister and their entire house are eventually drawn into an epic adventure when their house is magically hurtled through space. But in order to get back home they must continue to play the game. During the course of the story, the boys must overcome their personal ill-feeling held toward one another in order to survive. They are aided in this by a stranded derelict astronaut who appears as a result of the game. This astronaut is eventually revealed to be an older version of Walter, who had been trapped as a character in the game’s world as a result of causing the disappearance of Danny, without whom he was no longer a player. Go see this movie. Don’t even bother to finish reading this review. I won’t be insulted. Turn off your computer, pack up the family, and fork over the money to see this extravaganza now. Don’t wait for it on DVD. It won’t be the same, no matter the size of your TV or the power of your surround sound system. “King Kong” needs to be seen on the big screen where you can immerse yourself in Peter Jackson’s brilliance.
