Helen Lyle is a student who decides to write a thesis about local legends and myths. She visits a part of the town, where she learns about the legend of the Candyman, a one-armed man who appears when you say his name five times, in front of a mirror. Of course, Helen doesn’t believe all this stuff, but the people of the area are really afraid. When she ignores their warnings and begins her investigation in the places that he is rumored to appear, a series of horrible murders begins. Could the legend be true? When his father dies, Peter Gaulke inherits “Strange Wilderness,” dad’s TV show about animals. After ratings plummet and the show is canceled, we watch a long flashback to see its demise. The studio head gives the show two more weeks. An old friend brings a story about Bigfoot in Ecuador, so a long road trip ensues with stops along the way and enough problems, misjudgments, and deaths to sink a less intrepid band. Peter’s team faces competition from a better-funded and more practiced set of rivals. Who will find Bigfoot first, and will they get it on tape and save the show? Can Peter make dad proud? Audiences have sat through torturously bad sequels, remakes, and newly concocted drivel this year without a mass revolt. Studios are lucky ticket buyers haven’t organized and made a stand against $100 million-budgeted chunks of garbage. “This Summer It’s All About Sticking Together.”

Movie sequels are always a scary proposition. If the original was good enough to deserve a sequel, then the sequel will be fighting an uphill battle to be just as entertaining. Fans have high expectations - as they should - of films that continue where their favorites left off. Studios should feel a sense of obligation to not just cash in on the original’s success, but to place the best possible follow-up product on the market. Too many sequels skate by on the original’s merits, and never even attempt to come close to providing quality entertainment. That said - “American Pie 2” does come as close as possible to delivering the goods.

Jim (Biggs), Oz (Klein), Finch (Thomas) and Kevin (Nicholas) are four friends who make a pact that before they graduate they will all lose their virginity. The hard job now is how to reach that goal by prom night. Ted was a geek in high school, who was going to go to the prom with one of the most popular girls in school, Mary. The prom date never happened, because Ted had a very unusual accident. Thirteen years later he realizes he is still in love with Mary, so he hires a private investigator to track her down. That investigator discovers he too may be in love with Mary, so he gives Ted some false information to keep him away from her. The rise and fall of the notorious Roman Emperor Caligula, showing the violent methods that he employs to gain the throne, and the subsequent insanity of his reign - he gives his horse political office and humiliates and executes anyone who even slightly displeases him. He also sleeps with his sister, organises elaborate orgies and embarks on a fruitless invasion of England before meeting an appropriate end. There are various versions of the film, ranging from the heavily- truncated 90-minute version to the legendary 160-minute hardcore version which leaves nothing to the imagination (though the hardcore scenes were inserted later and do not involve the main cast members).
