Jodie Foster’s demonstrated with her recent selection of roles that beneath her slender pixie-ish build there’s a hellcat ready to pounce. Foster keeps plugging away at parts that not only put her in danger, but have her fighting back like an Amazon. While The Brave One isn’t the first film to showcase Foster’s skills as a woman driven into action when pushed (see Flightplan, Panic Room), it is the best of the bunch and the first film to show off Foster’s action skills without forfeiting character development.
