Men in Black follows the exploits of agents Kay and Jay, members of a top-secret organization established to monitor and police alien activity on Earth. The two Men in Black find themselves in the middle of the deadly plot by an intergalactic terrorist who has arrived on Earth to assassinate two ambassadors from opposing galaxies. Even before seeing “Garfield” I couldn’t help but wonder what demographic the studio was hoping to reach. After watching the film, I was still left wondering who the target audience for this movie really is. Do kids know much about the lasagna-loving feline or would this movie have been more likely to have found its audience had it been released 10 years ago as opposed to today? Garfield was extremely popular a decade ago, but I can’t recall the last time I heard someone mention the comic strip in the past few years. There must be an audience for the wisecracking cat as the strip is still carried in 2,600 newspapers around the world, yet I can’t help but feel it’s long past its prime as far as attracting an audience willing to fork over $10 to catch it on the big screen.

Robert Redford. Morgan Freeman. Jennifer Lopez. Take a moment to consider a marquee with those three names listed as the stars of a single movie. And not just any movie. Consider the threesome as stars of director Lasse Hallstrom’s (“What’s Eating Gilbert Grape,” “Cider House Rules”) relationship drama, “An Unfinished Life.” Just the thought of Redford, Morgan and Lopez together as the leads in the same film made me want to bust out in an old Sesame Street song. I tried to look at those names and not sing to myself, “One of these things is not like the other…,” but I lacked the self-control to hold back.

“Bewitched” is a TV-show-turned-into-a-movie hybrid. It’s not a remake of the show itself; it’s a movie about remaking the classic TV show, focusing on the behind-the-scenes antics of the actors cast to fill the roles of Samantha and Darrin from the original “Bewitched” TV series. Does that sound confusing? It’s actually not, though my explanation may well be.

Thus begins the visit from Hell as the two travel to meet Mom (Blythe Danner) and Dad, who turns out to be former CIA with a lie detector in the basement. Coincidentally, a sister (Nicole DeHuff) also has announced her wedding to a young doctor (Thomas McCarthy). Robert dean is a mild-mannered lawyer who works in Washington D.C. He is on the trail of a kingpin named Pintero. Meanwhile, a politician named Thomas Reynolds is negotiating with Congressman Phillip Hammerson about a new surveillance system with satellites. But, Hammerson declines, that is when Reynolds had Hammerson killed, but this murder was caught on tape, and this person was being chased by Reynolds’ team of NSA agents, the guy must ditch the tape, so he plants it on Dean (unbeknownst to Dean). Then, the NSA decides to get into Dean’s life. That is when Dean’s life began to fall apart all around him, with his wife and job both gone. Dean wants to find out what is going on. Then, he meets a man named “Brill” who tells him that Dean has something that the government wants. Thta is when Dean and Brill formulate a plan to get Dean’s life back and turn the Tables on Reynolds. Written by John Wiggins
